A CASE OF STRICT ANAEROBIC PROTOCOLS WITH AMBITION TO DEVELOP ANIMAL-FREE SOLUTION
Strict anaerobic bioreactor conditions were evaluated using CO₂ or N₂ atmospheres and 1% or 10% inoculation.​
pH kinetics, glucose consumption, and metabolite production demonstrate that gas selection drives fermentation kinetics, enabling reproducible, animal-free anaerobic processes.

YEAST PEPTONES – A COMPLEMENTARY ADDITION TO THE PEPTONE LANDSCAPE 
With their uniquely designed composition, yeast peptones are essential for supporting the growth of various microorganism species in a wide range of culture media. They can be used alone or synergistically with meat and vegetable peptones to optimize the production of biopharmaceuticals such as biologicals, active pharmaceutical ingredients (API), and vitamins by recombinant and non-recombinant microorganisms. Alternatively, yeast peptones offer an ideal replacement for traditional peptones, enabling producers to create animal-free and allergen-free.​

Recombinant enzyme production optimization with yeast extract in P. pastoris

This experiment shows how yeast-based nutrients enriched protein production.
P. pastoris, grown in bioreactor, expressing Human Serum Albumin (HSA) on plasmid under control of the constitutive GAP promoter in chemically defined media with 8% of ProCel® 245 MG. The recombinant HSA yield increased 88% when the media is supplemented with a ProCel® 245 MG yeast extract.

Comparaison of biomass & recombinant protein production after 15h of growth

Results obtained for genetically modified Saccharomyces cerevisie strain producing GFP. ​The strain was grown in Micro Titer Plate at 28°C under agitation with 10 g/L Soy Peptone or Yeast Peptone 3 - in a culture media derived from CP broth.​ Better performance are observed with the yeast peptone.

Across all three strains, Procelys animal-free peptones deliver growth comparable to casein peptones and TSA, confirming equivalent performance at 24 h.
